The Uruguayan Gerardo Pelusso was selected Tuesday as coach of the Paraguayan national team football, announced the president of the local association, confirming an appointment which was in the air from the dismissal of Francisco Arce weeks ago.

Pelusso, 58, who led the local club Olimpia the past two seasons, will be challenged to get to Paraguay, which was in the last four World Cups, the bottom of the standings in the qualifiers for Brazil 2014 after poor season in the first dates.
